Ace Ankomah Pursues Enforcement of GH¢2.95 Million Defamation Judgment Against Kevin Taylor

Private legal practitioner Ace Anan Ankomah has taken steps to enforce a February 24, 2020, Accra High Court ruling ordering U.S.-based social media commentator Kevin Ekow Baidoo Taylor and his firm, Loud Silence Media, to pay GH¢2.95 million in damages for defamation.

The lawsuit stemmed from Taylor’s allegations in his With All Due Respect video series, circulated on social media, accusing Ankomah of colluding with a Dubai-based minerals firm and senior New Patriotic Party (NPP) officials to harm Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1), CEO of the embattled Menzgold. Ankomah, represented by Thaddeus Sory and Marie-Nicole Poku, argued the claims caused “hatred, ridicule, discredit, contempt, vilification, great distress, and emotional trauma” to his reputation.

Taylor, absent from the trial and unrepresented, was found liable by Justice Kweku T. Ackaah-Boafo.

On August 2, 2025, following Taylor’s recent return to Ghana’s jurisdiction, Ankomah secured a court order for substituted service, publishing the entry of judgment and penal notice in a half-page advertisement in the Daily Graphic newspaper, formally notifying Taylor of the judgment.

The move signals Ankomah’s intent to enforce the GH¢2.95 million award, significantly less than the GH¢10 million initially sought. The case highlights ongoing tensions between public figures and media commentators in Ghana, with Ankomah’s legal team emphasizing accountability for defamatory content.
