Accelerating Ghana’s Transition to Clean Energy: A Call to Action
As the world marks International Clean Energy Day, the Institute of Coastal Climate Change Environmental Protection – Ghana (ICCCEP-GHANA) is urging the government, clean energy experts, and stakeholders to work together to accelerate the transition to clean energy.
This transition is critical to mitigating the devastating impacts of climate change, ensuring energy access for all, and promoting sustainable development.
According to ICCCEP-GHANA, Ghana has made significant progress in the clean energy sector, but significant challenges remain. The organization is calling on the government, particularly the Minister for Energy and Green Transition and the Minister for Climate Change, to increase investment in clean energy technologies, including solar, wind, and hydro power.
“We must work together to create a sustainable energy future for all,” said Emmanuel Gameli Dovia, Executive Director of ICCCEP-GHANA. “This requires a concerted effort from all stakeholders to identify and address barriers to clean energy adoption, promote policy and regulatory frameworks that support clean energy, and develop innovative solutions to energy access challenges.”
ICCCEP-GHANA is committed to promoting clean energy development in Ghana and is urging stakeholders to join them in this effort. The organization believes that a rapid transition to clean energy is essential to ensuring a sustainable future for the country and its citizens
