Ghanaian national , popularly known as Abu Trica, has been released from custody after successfully meeting his bail conditions set by an Accra High Court.
His lawyer confirmed that he secured his release on Friday, May 15, 2026, after fulfilling a GH¢30 million bail requirement with two justified sureties.
Abu Trica had been in police custody since December 2025 following an extradition request from the United States over alleged romance fraud charges.
A member of his legal team, Papa Kofi Essel, described the development as a reflection of Ghana’s commitment to the rule of law and protection of fundamental human rights, noting that due process had been followed in handling the case.
