27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards: Full List of Nominees Unveiled as Countdown Begins

The full nomination list for the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) has been officially released, setting the stage for what promises to be one of the most fiercely contested editions in recent years.
The nominees were announced during a vibrant unveiling show on Saturday, March 14, 2026, highlighting the depth and diversity of Ghana’s music scene over the past year.
Leading the prestigious Artiste of the Year category are Black Sherif, Medikal, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie, and Diana Hamilton — artists who have dominated charts, streaming platforms, and live performances.
A major talking point is the return of dancehall icon Shatta Wale to the awards after a seven-year ban. He joins Medikal and Beeztrap KOTM in the Best Hiplife Song category for their collaborative track “Shoulder.”
In the Album/EP of the Year race, standout projects include Black Sherif’s Iron Boy, Medikal’s Disturbation 2, Gyakie’s After Midnight, Stonebwoy’s Torcher, Wendy Shay’s Ready, and Kweku Smoke’s Walk With Me.
The Best New Artiste category features promising talents Kojo Blak, Gonaboy, Lalid, and Adom Kiki, all vying to make their mark on Ghana’s music landscape.
The awards span 26 categories, covering genres such as Highlife, Hiplife/HipHop, Afrobeats/Afropop, Reggae/Dancehall, Gospel, and more, along with special honors like Audio Engineer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and International Collaboration of the Year.
The date for the main awards ceremony will be announced in the coming weeks. Until then, fans, industry stakeholders, and music lovers are already buzzing with predictions and debates over who will claim Ghana’s most coveted music honours.
