26-Year-Old Man Stabbed to Death in Valentine’s Day Dispute at Adorkorpe near Ada Kasseh
A 26-year-old man, Wisdom Tetteh Assem, has been stabbed to death following a heated confrontation at a Valentine’s Day gathering at a drinking spot in Adorkorpe near Ada Kasseh.
According to the Ada Divisional Police Command, the incident occurred on Friday, February 14, 2026, during a social event where patrons had gathered to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a dispute erupted between the deceased and a block factory worker identified as Eric Kartel. The altercation reportedly began when Kartel accused Assem of urinating on the premises—an allegation that led to a verbal exchange.
Witnesses told police that during the argument, Kartel allegedly seized Assem’s mobile phone. The situation quickly escalated into a physical fight. Kartel then left the scene briefly before returning armed with a pair of scissors, which he used to stab the victim.
Assem was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival due to the severity of his injuries.
The suspect, Eric Kartel, fled the scene immediately after the attack and remains at large. Police have arrested one of Kartel’s friends to assist with investigations.
The Ada Divisional Police Command has recovered the suspected murder weapon (a pair of scissors) and has launched a full manhunt for the suspect. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to Kartel’s arrest and have assured that anyone with credible leads should contact the nearest police station or the Ada Divisional Command directly.
