13 Dead, 5 Critically Injured in Sege–Ada Highway Crash

Thirteen people have died in a fatal road crash involving a Ford Transit and a Toyota Hiace on the Sege Highway on the Ada road.
The accident occurred on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, as the two vehicles were reportedly travelling from the Sege Highway towards Ada.
Personnel from the Sege Fire Station responded to the scene and assisted in rescuing and attending to victims.
According to Isaac Kojo Opoku, Assistant Divisional Officer at the Public Relations Department of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Headquarters, a total of 18 people were involved in the accident.
He said 13 victims died, while the remaining five sustained critical injuries.
The injured victims have since been transported to the Sege Polyclinic, where they are receiving medical treatment.
The GNFS expressed its condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured victims a speedy and full recovery.
The exact cause of the accident, as well as the identities of those who lost their lives, is yet to be established.
Investigations are ongoing, with further details expected as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
